About Us
Changing Lives NZ Ltd
Our Journey
Changing Lives NZ Ltd is a residential home for adults with an intellectual disability located in Christchurch, New Zealand.
CLNZ holds contracts with Whaikaha, Te Whatu Ora and Flexible Supports (EGL) .
Established in 1996, CLNZ has continually been at the fore front of industry change with Te Whare Tapa Wha, the 7 principles of EGL and Te Tiriti o Waitangi underpinning CLNZ philosophy and values. We strive to achieve maximum opportunities, independence, health gains and community participation for all our Residents.
Our Purpose
CLNZ exists to enable people with an intellectual disability to have the dignity and quality of life that is their right.
Our founding philosophy that was set in 1996, "to create and foster a harmonious and family orientated residential home for the intellectually disabled that provides an environment for individuals to achieve their full potential" is still the core of our service today.
Our ability to create a home where Residents feel connected, have "ownership", form lasting relationships and be supported as an individual is our secret to changing lives. We live as a whānau. We love, laugh, cry and celebrate each other, our successes and our failures. We learn and grow as individuals and as a collective. We support each other in good times and when it's hard. We don't give up.
Mission Statement
Through exceptional quality care and support we will be the first choice for people seeking a residential home.
We are dedicated to providing adults with an intellectual disability a safe, loving, warm, inviting and supportive home where people's individuality is celebrated and nurtured, and where their rights, beliefs and culture is respected.
We walk beside our Residents on their journey in reaching their full potential and beyond.
CLNZ strives to be adaptable and reflective in all organisational decision making where everyone feels valued for the contributions they make.
CLNZ is committed to a collaborative approach to support requirements where the person and their whānau lead and make decisions for their own life.
